Welcome back! Thanks for stopping by!
Can you believe it? I missed the whole month of February! I know it is the shortest month of the year, but how did I miss the whole thing!? One might think I did it on purpose! I assure you, it was not intentional, but it did give me some time to reflect on some things…
For example, I want to talk to you today about Dreams and Aspirations.
Have you ever had a dream, a vision, a goal to accomplish? Have you ever aspired to do something greater than what you would normally do?
This could be anything! It could be a little kid going through the loss of a sick loved one and making it their lifelong goal to become a doctor. It can be a person who heard stories from their grandparents who flew airplanes in the war and they want to become a pilot. It doesn’t have to be that extravagant… It can be someone who just had their first child and they aspire to be the best parent they can possibly be. I am sure many of you already know what kind of commitment that one will take!
Speaking of commitment, while there may be some goals in life that don’t take a lot of work, the best laid dreams and aspirations take the most work and are the most rewarding! For example, oftentimes, we are asked to set goals at work. Some people may list a group of tasks they want to complete by a certain time. This may not be so difficult if you already have the tools needed and it is just a matter of prioritizing and staying focused until the tasks are complete. This can leave you very satisfied and proud of yourself for getting the job done. However, the bigger goals like becoming a manager within your company or being the first to create a breakthrough process for a client will take a bit more work and will be much more rewarding. These dreams and aspirations will take more commitment because they are oftentimes met with more difficulty to accomplish.
What about you? Talk to me! What dreams and aspirations do you have, or have you ever had? Did you achieve what you set out to do? Are you still working on it? Did you change your mind about it or simply give up? Is it on the back burner and you have every intention to get back to it later? I had a dream once, or I should say, a vision straight from God! This was back in 2011. When it first came to me, I was very committed. However, I soon realized that while this newly found passion had high demands, there was something in my life at the time that was much more demanding and necessary, or so I thought. Of course, when we have a struggle between 2 forces, the one that pulls the hardest will always win. As a result, my vision was placed on the back burner. I must be honest here, I really do not think at that time that I had every intention on picking it back up later. Let’s face it, I was overwhelmed and could not see how it could ever work. I mean, the other force that won the pull was my job and we all know a job is necessary to live, especially when you have minor children depending on you!
What about you? What is your level of commitment to your dreams and aspirations? Do you have obstacles that you cannot seem to overcome? Do you have things in your life that seem to have a higher priority? Do you find yourself compromising your dreams and aspirations for something with a greater pull in your life? Tell me what is keeping you from realizing your dreams. Tell me what is holding you back from aspiring to achieve that greater thing.
Can you guess what happened 6 years after my initial encounter with this vision from God? Let me say this… if you know anything about God, you know He is patient with us, but He also has a statute of limitations where he will not tolerate our disobedience forever! With that being said, even though I may not have been planning my comeback to fulfilling my vision, God had a plan and he was just waiting for the best time to spring it on me! 2017 would prove to be a massive year of change for me. God has grown me spiritually, and as a result, He let me know it was time for me to get back to His business.
So, where do I stand today with my dreams and aspirations, or the vision from God? It is in progress and I am moving full steam ahead. There have been bumps in the road, a LOT of learning and patience, but I can positively say that this dream will not die, this vision will become a reality! Of course, being that this was FROM God, it is going to take GOD to make it come to fruition, and I am ok with that. There is no one greater to pull this off and I am just grateful to be a part of it.
What about you? Where are you at with your dreams and aspirations? Please tell me what you are working on, or what you hope to see in your future. Maybe we can help each other out. Maybe there is someone out there with money and no idea what they should spend it on. Maybe there is someone out there with ideas and no money to make it happen. Whatever the case may be, let’s talk about it!
I hope to hear from you soon! Until then, I pray blessings for your life!
