Welcome back! I am so glad you decided to stop by!
Are you familiar with the term: Collateral Damage? Essentially it is what happens to those associated with a person who experiences some type of damage. Consequently, Collateral Blessing is what happens to those associated with a person who experiences some type of blessing. This is expected to happen to a child growing up with blessed parents. As their parents are blessed, they are also blessed. That is normal activity.
My concern lies in the collateral blessings of adults. I believe adults should experience blessings that are more direct. Of course, in a marriage, there are times where collateral blessing is expected. However, even a married person should experience direct blessings.
How do you get a direct blessing? It starts with you building your relationship with God and the things of God. The bible tells us in Matthew 6:33 that if we seek God and his righteousness before anything else, He will bless us with all that we need and desire.
How do you seek God? That is the easy part. Pray. Prayer does not mean you are asking God for things. Prayer should consist of reverence, repentance, praise, and thanksgiving. Prayer is how you commune or communicate with God so that you come into His presence. We come into the presence of God because that is where we find fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). It is very important that we find that fullness of joy because that is where our strength lies (Nehemiah 8:10). The presence of God, and the joy of the Lord are best experienced by direct blessing, not collateral blessing. So, my advice to you is: Seek the Lord while He may be found. Seek the Lord and His righteousness so that all of the things you need and desire will be added unto you.
Until we meet again, I pray blessings for your life!
