Welcome back! I am so glad you decided to stop by! Sorry I have been away for a while…
Today, I want to talk about labels and how to get rid of them! The bible tells us that we are born into sin, however, I am just recently realizing just how significant that statement truly is…
We can go our whole lives doing good deeds, but as soon as we do one thing wrong, we become labeled by that one thing. For example, if we are honest and we eventually tell a lie, now we are considered a liar and all of that honesty goes right out the window! Likewise, once you steal something, you become labeled as a thief. Once you cheat on your spouse, you become labeled as an adulterer. No matter how much good you do, once you have that negative label it sticks with you!
Until…
You repent and turn from your wicked ways. You must be washed by the blood of Jesus in order to remove the label. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The only way to remove the label that the world gives you is by surrendering your all to Christ and allowing the Good Lord to change you. Once you commit to a new life in Christ, you can talk about what you “used” to be. For example, “I used to be a liar, but Jesus changed me!” “I used to be a drunkard, but Jesus changed me!” Now the only label you will have is Christian, which means Christ Follower. All other labels are gone. Your past labels are passed away…
